Ben-Jamin AKA 'ME'
This adventure all started when I bought our first keel boat, a Hotfoot 31 named 'Thursday's Child'. I truly had no idea what I was really getting in to. I knew I enjoyed sailing, and I knew I'd always wanted to do a little bit of cruising and a little bit of racing - I simply had no idea how much fun it would be. For 7 years my friends and I got up to no-good and went on crazy adventures, from crashing a private waterfront Red Hot Chili Peppers concert, to sailing around Vancouver Island. We always find to best people and have the best adventures. We loved Thursday's Child as though she was a child of our own however, with a growing family and increasingly ambitious adventures in mind we sold her to long-time crew member Nick and his partner Sean, and purchased a Farr 1220 called "The Fugitive"; an open ocean capable cruiser/racer with much more room and amenities similar to those found at home.
A bit of context: It isn't our goal to be sailing media stars, in fact quite the opposite. This site started as a place for my Grandma and her friends, who aren't on facebook to check up on our sailing adventures. Since then we've had a few other people express interest, and we religiously blog here, when we feel like it... and there isn't too much going on... I'm always open to suggestions and ideas so feel free to let me know if there is anything you'd like to see on here! |
