2015/16 Polar Bear Take 1, Déjà Vu all over again...

Thursday's Child and XS roar in to the finish...

What a fantastic way to start the 2015/16 Polar Bear Series! We loaded the boat with some great friends, three of whom have the distinction of being Jericho Junior Regatta Champions, and were off to the races.

Our biggest rival and concern is XS, they're irritatingly well sailed and have just completed a serious retrofit. The wind was very light and we managed to keep up with them for most of the race, and most excitingly pass them on the final leg! First place and first to finish! Not a bad way to start the series!

Some highlights of the race were:

• Rewiring the depth-sounder as we were sailing inside shallow water markers
  
• seeing less water under the boat than we draw. Thank god we were heeling!
  
• Having fun and sailing fast!
